Willa Jean (Pace) Dudley, the daughter of Guy Edgar Pace and Susie Barnes Pace, and sister of William Edgar Pace, went peacefully home to heaven on the afternoon of May 7th, 2016.   Willa Jean was the wife of Bennie Joe Dudley, who had entered his rest 7 months earlier.

Willa Jean, or “Will” as she was often called, met Ben during her high school years in Marianna, Florida, and they were married in 1954.  After marriage, Will and Ben moved to Chattahoochee, Florida, and worked together there for decades in the medical laboratory at the Florida State Hospital.  Will and Ben were very active in the community, helping many Chattahoochee youth through their teenage years.  Will and Ben were both active in the First United Methodist Church in Chattahoochee.

Willa Jean and Ben had two sons: John Pace Dudley of Arlington, Texas, and William Benjamin Dudley, of Newnan, Georgia, both airline pilots.  The Dudleys loved to travel as a family, and most weekends were spent traveling with John and William.  Will enjoyed spending family time in the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and also the beaches of Panama City, Florida.  Will also enjoyed boating on the Apalachicola River and Lake Seminole, and camping at Kolomoki State Park near Blakely, Georgia.

During her later years, Willa Jean suffered from the Alzheimer’s illness, and Ben was her constant caregiver.  Following Ben’s passing, Will had received care at the Insignia Home in Newnan, Georgia.

Willa Jean was known by all as a joyful and happy woman, a devoted and loving wife and mother, and a constant encourager, helper, and giver.  Willa Jean’s attitude of service to others brought peace to the lives of those who knew her.   She was a truly joyful, peaceful, and loving woman to her family and community.

Kenton Peacock

Kenton Peacock, known by many as “Kenny”, was born in Chattahoochee, Florida on August 17, 1950 to Willie Oliver Peacock and Jewell Howell Peacock. He resided in Sneads, Florida until the time that he was reunited with those that went before him and his Savior, Jesus Christ on August 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Fiveash Peacock, both of his parents and one of his brothers, Dillon Dane Peacock. He is survived by his son, Christopher Sean Peacock and wife, Amy and grandchildren, Bowie and Isla of Dallas, Texas; Tammy Danell White and husband, Cranston White, including grandchildren, Jonathan Conrad, Adrianna Conrad and Tasha White of Sneads; his son Kenton David Peacock and granddaughter, Lily Peacock of Grand Ridge, Florida; and daughter, Devon LeighAnne Witzman and grandchildren Kelton Dwayne Raffield and Katie-anne Raffield of Sneads, Florida. He is also survived by: his brother, Carlton Peacock, wife Janet and family; a loving sister, Marilyn Peacock Campbell, husband Murry and family; and his sister-in-law Brenda Peacock and family.

Kenny graduated high school in 1968 and was soon drafted into the Army where he spent two years serving his country. Soon after he returned he began his family. He also began working for Southern Company where he worked for approximately 42 years. Not only was he a dedicated family man, but he also was dedicated to his work and his “work family”. There are far too many members to mention.

During his brief retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his children. He looked forward to bonding with his sister and thought the world of her husband Murry. He loved rebuilding old stereos, speakers, collecting guns, fishing, watching just about any sport and helping his family and friends out whenever he could. He was a role model for his children. According to them, he gave GREAT advice and only wanted the best for them.

Although he was never made to fight during the time that he served in the military, he began a battle before retiring from Gulf Power and continued to fight that battle throughout retirement until he finally WON. By ensuring his acceptance into the Kingdom of God and accepting Jesus into his life he conquered the demons that pursued him. After allowing his beloved family to spend a few more days with him, the Savior called him home. Kenny was a fighter, as tough as nails and wanted to continue his battle even after death.

With that being said, Kenny wanted family and friends to donate to the MD Anderson Cancer Research Center instead of sending flowers. It would honor him to do so.

The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM CDT on Thursday, September the 1st at the Lanier-Andler Funeral Home Chapel.  He wanted the service to be brief and then family and friends may visit as they may desire.
